Like other insurance companies

I am the first one who is writing a first review of ApolloDKV products and services because previous one looking like more an advertisement or self promotion.


First talk about the products - They dont have much plans right now because currently new in the industry but what they have looks good if you ready to pay higher premium, and if you really think of long way then definitely helps you if you go for Premium plan. But extra premium is really justified, can’t say rignt now? I am 25 years old and telling you what happen later!


Customer service number is available like you are the only one calling, no waiting for now. But are they really good in service. In starting yes, I leave my number and time to call and they made a call right on the time but this is before taking the service. I asked for send me a proposal form, and next day proposal form at my doorstop when I live away from Gurgaon. Quite impressive. I send through courier and next day get a call that we receive your proposal form and now going for undertaking and within 7 working days will issue a policy if everything is ok.


But if everything goes like this, then how you know that after all they are health insurance companies doesn’t matter they tied up with biggest insurance company of USA. After 4 days I got a call that you have marked in form that in last 5 years you have gone throw MRI scan or any other scan, please tell us what’s the reason? (Reason was I have taken a Reliance Life Insurance policy and sum insured is very high and as per their rules if anyone takes a policy of more than 25lacs then have to gone through whole body checkup. I gave the date of test, hospital doctor number and other details I have but can’t give the medical proof because I dont have and reliance bear all the expenses of that checkup, so can’t give my health reports but can show a policy from reliance - if everything is ok that’s why they issued me the policy).


Ok, no problem after 8 working days I made a call, they said currently under process, I made a call on 10 working day they said under process, I asked the reason and they responded - why you marked "yes" for any scan in last 5 years (i said because that’s the truth). They said Ok sir, in few days will issue a policy, but I am not ready to hear anything now and asked them to transfer the call to supervisor, but supervisor saying sir because we receive your proposal form just yesterday that’s why no policy issued yet. I said before receiving a proposal form, I am getting calls for why you have mentioned that or something and also got a call 10 days before that we receive a form, (are they know the future) she said ok let me check again.. after few minutes she said really sorry yes we received the form and in 5-6 working days you will get the policy.


I said, no if you can’t issue me a policy in next 24hrs then take the request of cancellation of policy and she said please give me till tomorrow’s time. Next day I got a call from same supervisor, please send me a email for the reason why you gone through any scan in 5 years and we will issue a policy. I send the mail with the reaosn and in the evening same day received a call that policy is issued to you. And in 2-3 days will receive the documents.


On 4th day when I gave a call then another person said, policy is gone for printing to Hyderabad and in 7-8 days you will receive a policy. Those are testing my patience and again I asked for cancellation of policy and they said if you cancel the policy then 80% of premium will refund and send the cancellation request in written or through email. I denied on that and after few hours they said sir we have send a soft copy of policy to you and in 3 days you will get the printed policy. Now more than 3 days are over and no policy yet, send emails to supervisor and customer service and no reply. (But for testing I send a mail on same email address from my another email address that how to buy your policy) and instantly in few minutes get a reply with all the details.


So, this is Apollo DKV, I prefer that stay away from them, because they are faster in selling but don’t care after that, so you can think how much problems will create if any claim. But I don’t know why these companies don’t think who will renew their policy after 1 year and reviews like these also save some customers or they don’t know about the mouthshut.com or word of mouth.


Really sorry, if review get’s little longer.  But big names doesn’t mean good service.
