Horrible experience. Think twice before consulting any nephrologist(Dr. Bobby Chacko) in Apollo banerghatta road Bangalore.
Doctor will suggest lot of tests which are expensive. Doctor will again give suggestion that since you have insurance (obviously from corporates) get admitted. Once you get admitted your bad day will start. Doctor will do all hell lot of tests which are not related to your disease. Since you will be inpatient you cannot say NO also. All types of doctors will be referred to like physician, ENT, endro and many other without any reason. Each doctor will give different tests to perform. They looted Rs.35000 from me for one day admission. My bad luck that even insurance people has denied processing my claim mentioning that there were no need for admission as all the tests could have been done as outpatient basis.
One more incident: Doctor admitted me for Biopsy but discharged within one day saying that BIOPSY is must but since I have not stopped one particular medicine he will admit me after 5 days again. I don’t understand why he has not seen my current medication. Doctor will never see which medicine patient is taking currently. When I consulted another doctor in another hospital he told that there is no need for any BIOPSY as all my reports are in same range as 1 year back. Why I want to unnecessary disturb my kidney. This is another incident which clearly shows that Nephrologist in Apollo hospital banerghatta only wants to make some money for them and for hospital.
GUYS, my humble request please avoid going to Apollo hospital banerghatta road, Bangalore for any nephrologist related issues.
Some other issurs with Dr. Bobby Chacko:
Some test was given whose result will come after 5 days. I wondered how he could do Biopsy (if really required) without those tests. And if those tests were not required for Biopsy then why did he gave?
He kept the insurance card that I applied with him only in his pocket so that he can be sure that I have applied.
He did MRI but still I had to go through ultrasound. MRI is the BAAP of all radiology tests then why that ultrasound was required.
Normal MRI takes 7-8 k in Apollo hospital in OPD basis but since I was inpatient I had to pay 14000 just for MRI.
When I shouted at last, he indirectly told me to do whatever I can, in somewhat threatening kind of tune.
I didn’t see his face in the 1 day of my stay, I saw at the time of my discharge when he came and told there won’t be any Biopsy today but his visiting charge was 4300.
