Though I or any of my family was not personally were victims, I wanted to keep public informed about an incident I personally saw in the emergency treatment area of Apollo Hospitals, BG Road, Bangalore. I heard it from daughter in law of victim who is an elderly person(at least 68-70 yrs old) walking on footpath near Mom&Me(near Dollars colony). A harsh riding cyclist hit this person to avoid an accident with a motor bike resulting in both falling down. The boy on the cycle had minor injuries, but the elderly person hit his head to footpath when he fell down started bleeding.
They rushed him to a small clinic close by who recommended them to go to Apollo after giving a minor care to stop bleeding, considering his age, proximity of Apollo & injury was on head. I was in the emergency getting nebulization for my 2 yr old daughter. This elderly person was waiting there for 30 min and docs kept on saying them to call cops & to register a complaint instead of giving him first aid. That lady was begging the docs to treat and they only gave him a ice cube to keep it on his head until they see a registered complaint or a cop to come over. I took my mobile and acted as if Im talking to some friend whose friend works in TV9 & was explaining him about this unethical behavior.
A junior doc over heard me & the treatment started the next minute fearing that they could be seen in local TV. This was smaller than a minor accident and the behavior of the docs was very unethical. Though I was thankful for them for arranging the nebulization for my daughter in the emergency ward as all other machines were busy, this behavior with such an elderly person was very bad.
Though what I did was not morally right, I was not sorry for what I did.
