Medical Negligence Killed a Patient

My Father was admitted in to the hospital on 8th Feb 2014 for gallbladder & stone removal. As its simple procedure, I convinced my father to undergo this procedure. He got admitted in the hospital and was operated on 8th Feb 2013, Saturday 3 PM .The very next day my father mentioned some discomfort and he was not feeling well. I was told, it must be due to gas, etc.On 9th Sunday feb 2014, he complained of swelling in the abdomen and a lot of pain, the doctor came in at 11:45 PM and said that the pain will come down, (patient was not allowed to touch the abdomen) we gave him the medicine and made him walk the next day. The doctor didn’t show up the next day. Monday 10th Feb 2014, doctor checked my father at 11 AM and mentioned that the gas problem is under control. We observed heaving breathing, drowsy, tiredness etc.

•   There is no hernia then how the doctor performed a hernia operation is the first question?

•   After 6hrs of the laproscopy operation, care needs to be taken. But due to hospital’s negligence and incompetence of the doctor it lead to many complications

•   The assumption is Doctor did the operation under the influence of alcohol

•   Air embolism is purely hospital negligence. Multiple disasters lead to the patient death.

We lost our father on 13th April 2014. After 15th day ceremony, with clarity of mind went through some of the medical reports and records available. Following are reasons for the death :

  1. Incorrect procedure, wrong decisions of the doctor(I think doctor was confused about the primary cause) There is no Hernia and doctor performed a hernia operation and I am not sure on what basis

  2. It’s simply medical negligence. Incompetent people do not take of the patients when required.

  3. There was no proper communication about what was going on and what steps should be taken next.

  4. Many factors are linked to each other to support. Air embolism is purely hospital’s responsibility. Followed by incorrect information which was noted in records

My whole family literally died in the hospital for little over 2 months. My father was healthy, walked in to hospital on his own and he was perfectly alright. Because of this procedure, he was killed in the hospital. Looking for justice. In my case incompetence and negligence has been committed by the doctor and the staff.
