We had admitted my uncle with broken leg in Apollo(Greams Road, Chennai) in Dec-2010.
Discharge Drama:
Dr. Suriya Narayanan(Ortho) and his assistant Dr.Anand(I actually wish to call them Ki11er$!) were checking my uncle and suggested traction(for 4 to 6 weeks) which should cure the broken leg~90% and told us operation would not be required. It took 8 days to make the above statement. We had to repeatedly request the floor supervisor to fix an appointment with the doctor so that we could discuss with the doctor regarding discharging him and continue the traction at home. It took 4 days extra before they discharge my uncle(we realized that they were awaiting a new patient to come before they discharge my uncle.they do NOT want to keep the room vacant and lose the room rent .good business model, right!).
Could not meet/talk to doctors:
Overall, we were frustrated as we could not even meet the doctors for days and have to run behind supervisors/floor receptionist to get an appointment with doctor. Even if we ask few questions(in fact, just for our understanding), doctors do not have patience to answer patients questions.
Apollos formula: Poor [Staff x Patient] ratio= Worst service:
Very disappointed with staffs functions and punctuality! Seems staff and patient ratio is very poor. This is an indication of very worst management altogether! Doctors seem rushing to achieve their target.
Even after discharged, it is very difficult to get their staff to visit home to check and adjust the traction. You have to tip them in hundreds otherwise they would not come next time.
Whole "Apollo" management system is screwed up:
We were really shocked more than disappointment when I see the whole system in Apollo has been screwed up! I heard that Apollo has been like this for the past several years! Im thinking on filing a complaint in consumer forum.looking to gather some evidences of such a bitter and cheating experience to the patients! Beware of this "Apollo" money suckers and avoid disappontment!
