My mom underwent a knee replacement surgery for her right knee under Dr. J. C. Pingle who is considered the most exp n next to God kind of doctor. Well we also trusted on him blindly. He seemed interested to operate on her the very first day we went for the consultation.
Somehow we postponed it for three days. the evening bfr her admission we got to know he has his son dre as a dr too named karthik pingle! Like father like son image. Altho dre were no pts waiting to see him at the opd. we were told that jc pingle May go out of station after conducting the operation n not to worry as karthik wl tk no less care. Surgery was successfully done.
But the story doesn’t end here. She was put in d icu. Where no physiotherapist went to check on her after 30hrs of surgery! I was worried Coz I knew how imp was it to get the physiotherapy started. but who cares When Money was already flowing in. She started vomiting n they offered her the dustbin instd of the kidney tray. I lost my cool n met karthik pingle who din bother to chk on the pt bfr dat. On his req at least they arranged fr a kidney tray. I felt blessed!
Even after three days of the surgery she was almost unconscious. When confronted karthik pingle said u guys r lucky that she is sleepin. Most of the pts can’t sleep even fr an hr due to the pain. I asked what about the physiotherapy. her knee will lose the flexibility forever. n what about Dr jc pingle. Why is he not here till now? He said dad wl come tomoro he went to Chennai for doing another critical tkr. I wondered if he keeps doing the surgery n changing place, leaving the patients in the mercy of ppl like karthik pingle.
What will b his success rate n how did he manage the next to God image? Now the critical question that what about my mom’s physiotherapy. he calmly Said. Will ask the therapist to come n see her. I murmured after three days."Just see her". again I questioned to much of his dislike. sir when she is unconscious how will the therapist start the exercises. He reluctantly said lets see! By that time my bill was already 3lacs coz we din even get the bed in d deluxe category as they were all full. Had to opt n pay for the executive class whr the care was no better. Anyways a lady came who was interested in talking abt her marriage which was due next month n concluded that my mom cnt go thru the ecexercises till she gains bk her senses.
Which even the sweeper cud say. Don’t knw y she was called upon to conclude that!? 4th day karthik pingle woke up from his sleep n told to remove the anaesthesia which was already in overdose coz his dad wl b coming by evening n my mom shud get up befor that. 4th day evening she opened her eyes In an extremely weak condition with tremendous nausea. Forget the physiotherapy. we just wanted her to b alive n fine. The elder pingle din turn up dat day too. 5th day morning 8 two therapist appeared from nowhere along with three men to make her stand up somehow. With zero or negligible exercises she was laid back. They again came bk after three hrs. I asked whr did the first therapist go.
They said she was so scared to seethe pts condition that she din dare to come again. I was like what the hell! Next day jc pingle the god like doctor came to see her. Mind it TKR is a five day package treatment. Doctor came on 6th day! Asked her to lift the leg. She cud hardly do. But he was quite satisfied n asked us to tk her back home as the rest of the physio cud b done at home. He is a short tempered Dr still I dared to question him that what about her mobility which was almost zero? What did he mean by rest of the physio when no physio was done for the first five days!
Why was the anaesthesia given in overdose? n most importantly will she ever get back her normal flexibility coz the artificial knee was already stiffed. He rudely answered why to waste the money here. we all r not from any kings family. The exercises can easily help her get bk to normalcy.gosh the king said in his kingdom that he is a middle classed guy who comes is jaguar car n of course he cares for oyr money too! Isnt that a hypocrisy? Lol.
Finally We paid a hefty bill of 5.30 lac and brought a patient who was better without the surgery. with months of home physiotherapy n repeated consultations with the Dr. She can not bend her leg even to 30degrees she cnt climb a single stair. She cnt get into the car easily.but pingle says she is just completely fine! I feel ashamed of myself for choosing Apollo and Dr j. C. Pingle for the treatment n ruining my mom’s life. If u Care for ur patient n ur money I request u never to choose Apollo.
