There is an incident happened sometime back to me when I had my brother admitted there with some fever. He was admitted there for 2 odd days and when I received the final bill amount, for some reason I decided to look into the bill little more carefully to figure out what all they have charged for. I was astonished by the fact that they have conducted two fever culture test twice in a day and one cost us Rs12000. Since it does not make sense to do the same test in a single day when you do not have report ready for the first test itself.
When I went and checked in the billing counter, I was informed that the test was written by doctor. I went to the doctor with the same question and doctor denied that he as written this test twice.
When I went back to the billing counter with doctors response, I was told that due to some system related issue the same test has been billed twice. This may be one of the kind cases, but I can’t stop myself to advise you people to check your bills in detail before nevertheless it’s paid by your insurance provider.
