I have an ipad mini like yours dont go back, I dont think you can, but mine lags at times too but I have found that it does this when there are too many redirects. like goung from facebook app to a shared link to another advertised link, etc. I get some apps like pixilmater that force close as well but I think that is when Im asking the app to do and save too much stuff at once. Also there seems to be some lag within google cgrome but I think that is the redirect as well. try different things, like backing up your data to icloud or itunes and resetting your ipad. also apple support forums has helpful people more than willing to help with answers, you just have to sort through the stuff on their because even though you go to ipad and ios support its all mixed in with mac stuff. good luck!
