I think iphone 4s is a good phone for average usage.It has a A5 chip processor which is enough to play games like asphault 8, thor etc without any disturbance plus it does not gets heated up.It has a 8mp rear camera which gives you good quality pictures and a 0.3 mp front camera which is also good in daylight but not so good in low lightning.plus you can also upgrade to ios 9 which is not available in iphone 4 and it is also cheaper.
If you want to watch movies on your phone then this is not your type of phone because its screen size is small just 3.5 inches otherwise for me iphone is the best brand.
