IPhone 5 was launched in late 2012 by the Cupertino tech giant Apple. It succeeded iPhone 4s which itself was a great stroke of success. Apple is renowned for its supreme quality and user experience. Each phone offers some new features and it did a great job with the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 was mainly known for its new body design as it was an all aluminium body very different from the previous glass body iPhone 4S. It is an extremely and impressively thin phone at just 7.6mm. Not only that, it is also very light weighted at 112 grams but at the same time has a very good build quality so it feels very good in the hand. It has a 4 inch screen which is bigger than the previous model. Apple maintained the retina display at 640x11366 pixels at a 326 ppi. It is a beautiful LED backlit LCD display which produces sharp and clear pictures. The display is very good for entertainment purposes such as movies and gaming. It comes with iOS 6 and can be upgraded to the latest version provided and supported by apple.
It comes in three storage variants – 16 gb, 32 gb and 64 gb version. All are similar in terms of other aspects of features and specifications. Storage is non expandable like all other previous models.
It features 1 GB of RAM which is enough for multitasking with ease and for graphic extensive apps.
It has apple A6 chip for processing which is a dual core 1.3 Ghz processing chip.
The camera is the main attraction and offers a nice 8 megapixel shooter with a 2.4 aperture, autofocus, LED flash and many modes of taking pictures and video in 1080p that is full HD resolution. It has a very good network and offers good speeds wifi and LTE which is otherwise called 4G network.
In terms of sensors it offers an accelerometer, gyro sensor, proximity and compass.
The battery is non removable 1440 mAh capacity battery that lasts for 225 hours on standby. It gives upto 40 hours of music playback. The charger is a reversible one for ease of use.
The mic and speaker quality is good enough for normal usage.
It comes in two color variants – black and slate or white and silver version. I think it’s an extremely good phone. The camera is especially very good. Apple has a done a wonderful job with this phone.
