Apples gall leaves me flabbergasted! Its not enough that theyve just moved to 2GB of RAM(years later than the competition which has since moved on to 3 and 4 GB) or that their cameras have just made the transition to 12MP.
The battery(except maybe on the iPhone 6s Plus) is an embarrassment but the company continues to put form before substance, (effectively relinquishing complete control to Jony Ive and the design team - forget customer feedback, this is Apple) so you actually have a SMALLER battery, which, they proudly proclaim, delivers the same crappy performance as the earlier one.
"3D Touch" is another example of form following function.you have this extremely "sexy" function but none of the Apps support if.by the time there are enough apps supporting it meaningfully, itll be time for the iPhone 7.so why fork out cash for it now?
The piece de resistance, of course, is the capacity of the phone which begins at 16GB(when the industry has moved on to a minimum of 32GB). This is laughable when theyve introduced cameras with the ability to shoot 4K video which snort up memory for breakfast! Want to upgrade to the 64GB phone? Pay another Rs 10, 000(the additional memory costs Apple around$10 by most estimates)
If I recall correctly, upto the iPhone 5S, their phones started at Rs 43000.from the iPhone 6 it went to Rs 53000.Now, (Drum roll) you can be the proud owner of an Apple iPhone 6S(16GB) for a MERE Rs 62, 000.(Rs 72, 000 if you want the more practical 64GB version).given that initial sales bombed with this ridiculous pricing and the queue of idiots lining up to part with their hard earned cash did NOT go around the block, Apple is discreetly offering deeper and deeper discounts through the online retailers. Already the Market Operating Price is close to Rs 53, 000
Bravo Apple! If your strategy was to convince people of the need to upgrade their iPhone annually, youve just ensured the exact opposite.
Unless you have an iPhone 4S(or older) wait till this time next year to upgrade to the iPhone 6S when it will be a(still expensive) but more realistic Rs 39000 or so.
