Recapitulating my childhood memories of Appu Ghar Delhi, I recently visited Appu Ghar, Pune. I paid 120 Rs as admission fees - Entry and about 15 rides (3 were not operational). Appu Ghar PUNE is very small one compared to its Delhi counterpart (Perhaps not even 10%).
The maintenance is Poor and around entrance, the ambience is poor. The water fountains are dried up and the old water cooler doesn’t work. The staff is plain and appears as if they are government employees of a communist state. None of the shops inside had any occupants; seems its not commercially viable. Could see only one vendor selling some Pakodas and Tea in a makeshift room.
Though it was Saturday evening, however there was not much crowd. The kids though were engrossed in the rides. Bacche man ke sacche.....
The APPU Ghar, pune is promoted as one of the prime tourist destination of Pune, however it does not live up to the expectations. Rs 120 per person is expensive by all standards and I could see lots of middle class families returning back after they were exposed to the shocking price.
Overall APPU GHAR, PUNE is no way near to its Delhi counterpart and is better to avoid.
