Beat the Heat & The Tempers ;-)

Love for Apple juice runs in our family. Though the same can not be applied for Apple per se ;-)

I remember very well that whenever we used to be at a railways station, besides looking out for our platform, where the coach will come, finding the “Himachal Pradesh State” Run apple juice counters used to top our list of priorities.

Priced at Rs. 6 since I dunno when, we used to down at least 2 glasses at a time. It used to be cold & refreshing. And we all used to love it.

But then this passion was restricted to our visiting a railways station. But thanks to Parle & the launch of Appy the problem was solved. This product was initially launched in 1986 and is now available as Appy Classic 300 ml tetra packs.

Come 2006 Appy Fizz was launched & this launch was way big than Appy. It’s the same old drink but what’s the difference?

  • As against to Appy classic, Appy Fizz consists of carbonated apple juice.

  • It comes in a classic packing of Champagne Bottled shaped bottles.

  • It is available in 300ml, 500ml and 1 Ltr. PET.

The target group for this launch was “youngsters” with the tag A cool drink to hang out with.

Now you must be wondering why I am rambling like an encyclopedia. After 200 some words let me come to the relevant point ;-)

Why I love Appy Fizz…..

  • Its taste which is neither too sweet nor too sour. Which is a boon for me because I hate drinks like rooh-afza for its too sweet a taste.

  • The golden color. My land lady was fooled that I am drinking in alcohol ;-) and trust me it can fool anyone ;-)

  • It is fruit based. Coming from a person like me who hates fruits it’s something to reckon ;-)

  • As it is a fruit based drink it is not unhealthy unlike its counter parts like Pepsi & Cola’s.

  • Though I hate apples (handsome doctors are any day a better proposition ;-)) I have fallen in love with the drink. So people who hate Apples, please trust me and try this ;-)

  • It is priced attractively.

  • It comes in a trendy bottle.

  • The trendy bottle can very easily be re-used to store water ;-) lovely investment no?

  • In the scorching heat this is the best & the lightest way to neat heat. Though it’s filling but it is light. Light on your stomach & pocket as well.

  • It is so light that you can finish one whole bottle gata-gat ;-)

  • It’s different and like be different ;-)

  • Have read somewhere that this drink is successfully being used as a cocktail too.

  • Nice to meet frenz over Appy Fizz, specially for non-OM drinkers like me ;-)

This review is short n sweet (I hope it’s sweet ;-) ) because instead of rambling more about it I would prefer that you get out of that darn chair and get the drink and taste it.

Yes, if there are some side effects of this drink then am unaware of it but am sure it will not make me loose my teeth neither does it increase my weight nor does it make me loose much money.

But what it gives me is a feeling of satisfaction & strength to beat the heat ;-)

This one is for the “aam admi of MS”. Though this drink has no aam in it but still it is more in reach for common man than the ‘aam’s & apple’s ;-)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appy_Fizz educated me about the history of the product ;-)

Go grab the nearest bottle ;-)
