Hi All, I recently bought this bike/scooter/motobike. I clocked over 700 kms and its still in run-in period and I am already blown away with its performance.
Intro:
First of all, I am 33 yrs of age and my height is 54. Initially I was very skeptical in buying this as I dont know if it will be comfortable for me and my height.I took a test ride and was pretty much impressed with the power it produces and the light weight nature of this bike(its just 122kgs). While my mind played with me to settle for 110 cc commuter scooters, My heart kept saying to go for Aprilia.
I took good 2 months reading all reviews of this bike in youtube and in team-bhp, xbhp, mouthshut and every blog that has "Aprilia SR 150" in the google search results and finally took decision to buy this and I dont regret buying it. It has become my best buddy now.
Pros:
I dont feel like I am riding a scooty. It gives immense confidence to zip through traffic and through cornering. I commute 55kms daily during normal to peak traffic timings and This bike is a beast in over taking and zipping through all those 110cc and 125 cc scooters/bikes and mind you, This little beast can give tough competition to 150 cc segment as well.
I havent realized its full potential yet since its still in run-in period but I am sure it can easily cross 110kmph. At traffic signals, its a eye ball grabber and the moment signal goes green.swoosh.goes the bike and all 100~150 cc bikes eats the dust of my scooty. I feel like It has the DNA of a KTM duke.
Facts:
If you are keen on mileage and want more than 50kmpl, Dont bother buying this bike. It wont given more than 32~35 kmpl in real time city traffic.
The suspension is so stiff and we feel each and every bump. Comfort is not as bad, but Dont expect super comfort on this bike as its not designed for comfort, rather its a performance oriented bike.
It tends to skid in a patchy and gravel road, so need to be extra careful riding at high speeds on these kind of roads.
Cant fit full face helmet under the boot.
This is not just for college going students. It can easily handled by all age persons as long as they are interested in performance.
There are vibrations when Engine is idle but once it comes alive, We dont feel vibrations.
Head light visibility is not so good at nights.
Can easily cruise at 80-90kmph.
Verdict: I can definitely recommend this little beast for every one if you are looking for a performance oriented bike at reasonable price. Take a test ride and decide. If you are in a confusion to take which bike, toss a coin. If you want to toss it again.you know which one to go for;) Ride safe.
