The drama begins when the hero dies and the heroine becomes pregnant. After that you have to see the movie to enjoy it. Rajesh Khanna is in his best of forms, giving a fantastic performance in both the roles. But the father looked more handsome than the son!!! Yes, the film proves why Rajesh Khanna during his time created ripples in every woman’s heart. He as the airforce pilot in the film looks great. But the film belongs to Sharmila Tagore. She gave one of her best performances as well.
This performance can only come second to her performance in Mausam. She depicted her role in the most sensitive way. First she is the romantic partner to Rajesh Khanna, then the unwed mother, then the criminal who takes the punishment in her name to save her son and finally the old woman seeing her son after so many years but cannot call him as her son. Beautiful. Another major highlight of the movie is definitely the music. It has some great songs and well it is difficult to say that which one is the best!! All in all Aradhana is a good entertainer and can be called as one of the good romantic movies of all time.
