Anyone got a dvd/vcd of this movie?
I have never seen this movie....all that I have seen is some parts of it in the sequel ’’Abar Aranye’’.....this movie is supposed to be one of Ray’s finest with the draining of youth, frustration of the times.....and above all the hypocracy of the middle class bengali society...if anyone... ohyou have it?!...I could spend some to get a copied version of it from u....this movie is not available in stalls and ther’s no chance of getting in near future......
I would also like to watch movie like ’’Piku’r Diary’’ and ’’Pratidwandi’’....rest all ray movies I think are available.....
One thing I should say is that Abar Aranye has been a let down as a sequel...it was good as a standalone film....the message that the director wanted to convey through the last statement that ’’Mastarmashaye’’ makes to the literature....was not that apt through out the movie.....the degradation of the middle class and constant increasing differences with the world is also not evident if someone did not make far fetched interpretations.....the change in Tabbu’s mind after meeting Mastarmashaye is also not gradual..and had to happen as if the film needs it...more time and treatment could have been invested in this.
