If you ask me about a few things which I really like doing - reading comics will be one of them. And if you ask me which is my favourite comic I’d say it’s - Archie. I was very fond of reading this series in my childhood and even now whenever I have some spare time I just love to read it.
Here is a description of few of the main characters of this comic -
ARCHIE ANDREWS
Is a redhead, lives in Riverdale, studies in Riverdale High. He has many hobbies, drives an old car, and takes jobs to pay for dates. His love is divided between Veronica and Betty. He is the lead singer of THE ARCHIES. His best friend is Jughead. Archie is a good fellow, but also an accident waiting to happen and always gets involved in the funniest situations.
VERONICA LODGE
Also called Ronnie?is very beautiful, daughter of MR. Lodge, very rich, she has a very lavish lifestyle, but still hangs around with her poorer friends. Her best friend and love rival is Betty Cooper.
BETTY COOPER
A blonde, is from a middle class family. she and Veronica are always in a close battle for Archie’s heart and they remain best friends
JUGHEAD JONES
Though his full name is given as Forsythe Pendleton Jones, he rarely uses it and is better known by his nick-name Jughead.
He has a dog named as Hot Dog. Always seen wearing his crown-shaped gray felt hat. Eating is his hobby. His favourite food joint is Pop Tate’s, and is always running away from Big Ethel..a girl who is head over heels over him.
REGGIE MANTEL
Just like Veronica, from a very rich family, Reggie is Archie’s rival, and he loves Veronica..He is very jealous of Archies so he enjoys making Archie’s life miserable. He is a very talented athlete who excels at American football, baseball and basketball. Reggie thinks of himself as the greatest gift to women but behind all that he is a warm-hearted teenager. He is also a guitar player for The Archies
BIG ETHEL
She is tall, ugly and has a huge infatuation with Jughead . always running after him.
DILTON DOILEY
He is the smartest in Riverdale High. He is always busy with some inventions?and helping his friends.
MISS GRUNDY
She is a teacher in Riverdale High
MR. WEATHERBEE
Mr. Weatherbee is the principal of Riverdale High School. Everyone calls him The Bee. He is constantly annoyed by Archie so he tries to stay away from him.
MIDGE
She is a friend of Betty and Veronica and also the girlfriend of Moose although Reggie is also in love with her.
MOOSE
Moose is extremely possessive of Midge. A very good athlete and very fond of Dilton.
Other characters. Chuck Clayton, Mr. Flutesnoot, Mr Lodge, Josie, Melody, Sabrina, Pop Tate, Sabrina.
To conclude, I’d recommend this series to everyone . Age isn’t a factor. Whether you are 8 or 88, you’ll enjoy it. Archies isn’t just ruling my heart but the hearts of many others too. If Archie was real, I would have loved to meet him!
