The chain restaurants can be successful. First lets see the Indian enviorement. The pan India network is very different from other countries. We have different religions, different thinking, and minds in different areas. Is that India is having 200 countries in it.
Now if this chains comes with same menu & taste all over India they are least successful bcoz the taste, food requirement and per capita income changes as we change the region. The eating habit is different from religion to religion and also from area to area. the habits of eastern India is different than western people or see south who drinks more coffee than tea. The chain usually fixed is menu, rates same in his all locations and same marketing tactics all over will not work. They should check the local interest, taste and how much they afford. Domino was successful in big cities but not in small cities like Aurangabad in Maharashtra due to high rates .It has closed down many outlets in India. See how macdonald mixed his menu with Indian name and Indian taste in his hamburgers.
In India u need clear cut policies for different areas and regions. Different menu and the rates in different areas. What happen in India that a new restaurant is opened people come to see a new taste and variety and the owner things they are hit and roll same plan all over. but he realise after some times and that is he is finish.
