To be honest I don’t know whether this review is suits this category…but I wanted to write about food courts and could not find any other category…so here goes!
We are living in a fast paced world…a world in which people find it difficult to spend quality time for good dining experiences….there used to be a time when people used to go to various restaurants, be it specialty or multi cuisine and spend time…then came the era of packed or should I say canned food practices which were closely followed by the fast food company giants and pizza outlets……
As the hospitality industry is growing, there are experiments tried out by them too….to say that food courts are a failed experiment would be wrong….Any one who has been to such food courts will surely agree with me…. Am not saying that food courts do not have any negative aspects…
Who would not want to go to a place where there are more than 5 of the city’s leading restaurants and coffee shops put up together….this concept has become a popular one because it fits everyone’s bill….the crowd is good…lot of choice on the menu….
I believe that such a concept originated because of two main reasons:
WORK – A – HOLICS: Well as I mentioned earlier, we are now living in a fast paced world….an era in which both parents are working to keep up the pressures of needs and wants….since both parents are working it becomes difficult to cook at home and eating outside is always tempting…
Food courts provide that delightful option to such working parents….Not only can you sit and enjoy a sumptuous meal but also pack a good meal and take it home….with the presence of food courts you have a variety of choice’s and all of these at rates which are said to be nominal considering today’s inflation……
MULTI NATIONAL COMPANIES(MNC) & IT sector: I would say that the boom in the IT sector and the increase of MNC’s have also ignited the rise of food court’s….with people working in huge offices and for a long time at various shifts this is indeed a very good opportunity for the food service industry….Food courts at such companies offer food at subsidized rates and also are open round the clock….
