Sheer Disappointment

When I saw the announcement of a new book - Are you Afraid of the Dark - at Crosswords.. I was really thrilled...

A New Sidney Sheldon book after a Long Time... What more could you ask for..

I rushed to Crosswords on 7th Sept, as I could not make it on 6th - the day the book was supposed to be launched..

As usual..I read the book- Cover to Cover finding as much time I could to do it..but I am really Sorry to say - I was really disappointed.

This is not what I had expected from Sheldon.

With Sheldon what comes to your mind are his such strong characters like Tracy Whitney(If Tommorrow Comes), Jennifer Parker(Rage of Angels), Noelle Page(Other Side of the Midnight)...and so many others...The way he builds (or used to..) his characters...the Plot...The twists...and sometimes quiet predictable but still a Superb End...

I could find none of these in ’Are You Afraid of the Dark’..

In this book - Sheldon has portrayed 2 characters (supposed to be heroins...) Kelly Harris and Dianne Stevens...After mysterious death of their husbands, they realize that the husbands have in fact being murdered...

Then Starts a Cat and Mouse game..(No really valid reason...) everyone knows who the cat is..(therefore no real suspense..)and then everyone is trying to kill these two...(And they always survive...)...

No guys...There is no REAL Storyline that I should be mentioning here...

It is a Real Waste..

Some good points to mention though...As usual Sheldons narrative is quiet gripping..which forces you to finish the entire book tough it is SO predictable...

And one more thing...the book is not very big - so you don’t have to bear with it for a long time.
