A Sidney Sheldon book after a long period of time.
The story revolves around two women who are forced to join hands in order to find out the cause behind their husbands death. The plot revolves around the women Kelly Harris and Diane Stevens, both very successful women in their careers and with loving husbands whose lives are suddenly shattered when they hear about their husbands death.

A friendship made forcibly in order to finish the mission started by their husbands turns out to become a friendship for life.
How the two women outwit the killer and how they finally avenge the death of their husbands, with the same moral of Truth always wins is the gist of this novel.
The story throws a lot of insight into how the technology rules the world when Tanner claims that he can become GOD.
The novel also brings out the way these women fight against the Tanner, a man whom they find to be an expert in all forms of technology, power. Every single movement of these women is tracked and they are always in danger for the hunter becomes the hunted. But each time Kelly and Diane use only their wits to fight against and come out successful in every form.
The characterization of Tanner is very powerfully narrated and Sheldon brings out the fact that when the need arises, women who have had very comfortable lives throughout can face danger and act with their only strength being wits and brains.
Tanner is portrayed to be a man who is possessed to always claim fame, and can stoop to any level to gain the fame and glory. He turns the business what was started by his brother as a volunteer work to help the under developed countries into a money making business by foul means.
Kelly and Diane are two different personalities with different ways of thinking. Kelly is portrayed to be a very strong person who just believes in achieving things with determination and does not want to show the pain. Diane on the other hand talks to her dead husband every night and shares all her pain and sorrows by talking. Both the mixed personalities join hands together with only the single motive to find out what lead to their husbands death on the way to Washington. Who is behind the deaths and what is the motive?
A book to be read completely at once. A long awaited fiction by Sidney Sheldon.
