Hi Guys, I just looked in mouth shut for the reviews on this great author’s creation and found the review only on Temple which of course is the only book by this great author I have not yet read. Reading the reviews now I want to, by hook or crook locate this book and read it.
But coming to Area 7, it is a very engrossing book of about 600 pages if I remember right coz it is long time after I have read the book that I am writing the review and specially defense fanatics and people who love special forces will never put this book down.
This book by Matthew Reilly as described by him is a work of inspiration from the secret base Area 51. It is also considered a sequel to Ice Station, his earlier book bcoz most of the characters including the lead Capt. Shane Schofield are the same and the story in between has the happenings of Ice Station in it.
Coming to the story part of it, as most of the Reilly fans would know it is very difficult to reveal the story as it has so many twists and turns that you will be left breathless at the end of it. Believe it or not, I got the book at 7:00 in the evening n was not able to sleep till 3:00 in the morning till I had finished the book. I used to close the book to sleep but get up after 20 mins to continue and after 70 pages I would tell myself ’’Ok it is time to sleep’’ but could not sleep till I finished it.
It is very engrossing n action fanatics will love the action sequences described in the book which is at par with any hollywood movie. I just loved it.
To give u a brief idea of the story, it is abt the secret base Area 7 in the Utah Desert which the President of America visits to investigate n the happenings during his visit. The book has all the typical Reilly contents including Huge Bears which attack the humans n also the action scenes which is the major highlight of the movie......oops !!! sorry the book. Anyways once you start reading the book u will feel as though u are in a movie.
Guys I feel tht all the people who have read even one of Reilly’s work should read this bcoz they will never put it down. He has taken the action scenes frm the land combat to helicopters n speed boats n also space shuttles during the climax. And the way he has put across the last scene of the combat after the space shuttle lands is mind blowing and you can actually visualise it. But actually there are many sequences in the book which you can visualise and can’t forget long after reading it.
Also he has taken the love story of Shane n Gant (From Ice Station) also pretty well. But the best of all is the character of Mother which I liked both in Ice Station n Area7. Ofcourse you can’t deny the fact that any reader will first like Shane Schofield n then any other character as he is the lead and is proven worthy to be the lead role by Reilly. I think it would be better if you read the book for yourself coz if I continue I will write the whole story but ofcourse it will not have the same impact as Reilly but anyways hope you will find this book and read it and enjoy reading it.
Warning : If you have atleast 6 hours of spare time only then buy this book bcoz u cant stop reading it coz u want to know what happens next till the last page.
