They were the Wild Boys of the 80s.But they werent just a bunch of teenyboppers and this album surely proves it.The talent of any band is put to test at live shows and by recording their tour of 84 and bringing it out as an album duran duran made a point.
Please please tell me now is there something I should know?this is actually the 1st track of the album but there aint anything much remarkable about this track except the saxophone rendition towards the end.
Hungry like the wolf is a sing along kinda song with enjoyable groans and howls.
The sun slips down bedding heavy behind
The front of your dress all shadowy lined
The Chauffeur is my favourite track. This is a marvellous ballad with a keyboard backdrop and soft drums culminating with the tunes of the flute.Simon Lebons vocals are impeccable in this song.
with a thought...
with a whisper...
with a careless memory...
The vocals get pretty deep and husky in Careless memories with John Taylors bass coming into prominence. The song breathes of passion and anguish beautifully captured by words.
Save a prayer and Planet earth both hugely composed of synthesizers generate totally different feels.Save a prayer has quite a gothic feel to it and on the other hand planet earth is a loud and savvy song.
New religion too has gospel roots and Lebons vocals are probably most taxed in this song.
The seventh stranger is quite a dark song coming from an erstwhile pop band.
wild boys never lose it
wild boys never chose this way
wild boys never close your eyes
wild boys always shine
Wild Boys was the new song included in the album and is a catchy track. The vocals and guitars are ferocious and are a far cry from songs like Union of the snake.
Incidentally none of the Taylors in the band are related.Funny na?
