A Diamond

This book is just outstanding and I must that this book tells every part of the greatest epic ever in Indian mythology which is mahabharat. Reminds me of the movie Troy with crisp editing, fast paced, yet not over melodramatic.

As a child in India in the early 90’s, Arjuna was the only character I could equate to a modern day superhero.

And Anuja has written a fast paced, enthralling homage to the Mahabharata’s gunslinger which is difficult to put down. She has put together a vivid account of the Pandava warrior, and skillfully woven it against the larger backdrop of the Mahabharata.

The chapter on Abhimanyu stood out and the friendship between Krishna and Arjuna has been well etched. She has brought out the negative and positive sides of the main characters with rare honesty.

Though the book is laced with humorous conversation, particularly between Arjuna and Bheema, I hope to see much more humor from this Author in her subsequent works. This is one of the best versions of the Mahabharata that I have read and is a must read for any fan of Indian mythology.
