This is the earth at the time dinosaurs roamed on the lush and fertile planet. The piece of rock just six miles wide changed all that. It hit the earth with the force of 10, 000 nuclear weapons. A trillion tons of dirt and rock curdled into the atmosphere creating a suffocating blanket of dust, the sun was powerless to penetrate for a thousand years. It starts with a meteor shower but there is more to come, an asteroid of the size of texas is approaching us at the speed of of 22, 000 miles/hr and not a soul on earth can hide from it. We have only 18 days before it hits the earth.And it doesn’t matter where it hits on earth nothing will survive, not even bacteria......It is what is call the global killer, the end of mankind.

They say nothing can stop this from hitting us not even a 100 nuclear weapons sent to the asteroid because of it’s sheer velocity, size and the composition. The only way to stop this is by blowing it from inside i.e drilling. They have to drill the asteroid into two pieces so that it’s trajectory changes and it does not hit the earth. This is when they find Harry Stamper(Bruce Willis), the world’s best deep core driller and the only person who can complete this mission successfully and save the earth. He has worked on every terrain and has been successful.
14 men agree to put their life on stake for the 5 billion people living on earth. There is no guarantee that any one of these will return but still they agree to do the job, for the earth, for mankind. Every person on earth is proud on these 14 souls. They are launched into the space in two shuttles, but the mission never look’s possible but at last they find themselves in a situation where they can complete the mission but someone has to sacrifice his life for this. And Harry does it. He sends all the members safely back to earth but stays there and blasts the asteroid with a nuclear bomb. Our earth is saved just by 400 miles and less than a minute. And if it wasn’t for this man nothing would have survived......
The best scene in the movie remains the scene when the president of United States addressess the whole world. I really had my mouth open and didn’t move a inch when this part was going on. You’ve got to read this.The president says:
’’I address you tonight not as the president of United States not as the leader of a country but as a citizen of humanity. We are faced with the gravest of challenges, the bible calls this day ’’Armageddon’’, the end of all things and yet for the first time in the history of the planet a species has the technology to prevent complete extinction. All of you praying with us need to know that everything that can be done to prevent this disaster is been called in the service. The human thirst for excellence, the knowledge, every step of the ladder of science, every adventurous reach in the space, all of our combined modern technologies and imaginations even the wars that we have fought that has provided us the tools to wage this terrible battle through all the chaos through all of the wrong’s and the pains suffering through all of our times there is one thing that is nerves got our souls and elivated our species that manders our courage. Dreams of an entire planet focused tonight on these 14 brave souls travelling into the atmosphere. May we all citizens of the world over see this event through. God bless and good luck to you.’’
The best movie I have seen in my whole life you have got to see this. A job well done by Bay Michael and Bruce Willis. From the story to the special effects to the sound evrything is just perfect. You cannot make a film better than this. My view towards life is completely changed, because everything shown in the movie is a truth and not an imagination. This can happen anytime and we should be prepared for it. I’ve known one thing after watching this movie, we survive as long as earth survives, it’s a jewel in the universe that supports life, our mother ’’EARTH’’.There is nothing above it or below it where mankind can survive. So let’s protect our earth for our survival, for humanity.........
