Army Institute of Technology was the brain child of Gen B C Joshi, which came to existence in 1994. It was created for the welfare of wards of Army personnel. Admission to AIT is by AIEEE , although admission rights are reserved for the wards of Army personnel.
I being an Alumnus of AIT, have spend 4 years of my life out there. And really, those were the best days of my life.
Many people have this misconception in mind that students of AIT join only army, which is not a complete truth. Yes many of them do..and thats what most of them dream, since there lies our root... But many of them join corporate world as well.
AIT is affiliated to Pune University. Ever since its inception, AIT boasts of producing University toppers. Perhaps the only engineering college, which gives you an opportunity of overall development apart from just academics.
AIT has got 4 specializations, viz. Mechanical, Computers, IT and Electronics & Telecommunications. AIT has got best of laboratories with latest equipments. There isnt any other college in Pune where students get chance to work on CNC Lathe and Milling Machine.
AITians are best even in Culturals. You ask any AITian about VERVE (Indias biggest inter-collegiate cultural festival, organised by Express youth Forum). Hell say, Winning VERVE is more of a habit to us, rather than a Challenge.
Within 10 years of its birth, this cub has turned to a Lion. And when it ROARS, people listen, because there is no match to it. It will keep gaining new heights of success in times to come.
