'buffet' lunch: A truly bad expereince

This review is limited solely to the buffet lunch as advertised by AoC.

SUMMARY: Spicy food, tiny servings, bad service, and most importantly

THIS IS NOT A BUFFET AT ALL !!!

COMPLETE REVIEW HERE:

Firstly, it is NOT A BUFFET, but a set lunch. Which means that one is given a list of say 5 items, out of which one may choose any 3.

I wonder what AoC is doing in this business when they dont know the difference between the two.

Think this is enough grounds to do a consumer case or something against them.

We ordered a soup, two main course side dishes , and despite it being a chinese restaurant, could only order a noodle OR a fried rice, and there was one desert to follow. For the non-veggies, you can order only one non-veg side dish.

The food portions are not very big, and the food is limited, which is good for someone petite like me, who hardly does justice to any buffet, but if you have anything close to a decent appetite, then probably you would leave the restaurant still hungry.

The food is really spicy, and I eat more spice than the average north indian, this is truly unpalatable. I left my soup after taking just one sip, and the babycorn in bean sauce followed the same fate.

The food was ok, apart from the spice levels.

We ordered date pancakes with icecream for desert, and while the ice cream was a decent scoop, the date pancake turned out to be the size of a "maska-chaska" biscuit. A real disappointment.

The service is not really really pathetic, but bad all the same. They refused to take reservations when I called earlier in the day saying that the restaurant would be empty(which it was not), and when we arrived, we had to make do with a table right near the kitchen entrance.

A bad part about the service was that the waiters were literally running around with food plates in their hands, which really made the ambience levels fall.

Overall, an avoidable experience.
