I have been following football for about a decade now. And I been a fan of Arsenal for most of that time. The love-affair started when the club achieved the highest honour of its glorious history when it managed to win the Premier league unbeaten in 2003-04.
Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Ljungberg, the names would terrify opposition defenders. The club also managed to reach the final of the champions league, Europe’s premier football competition, in 2006, but it resulted in a heartbreaking loss to Barcelona.
It has been a tough ride since, the club moved to a new stadium, struggled with the finances, losing its star players season after season, unable to compete with the big spenders in the league.
But now those days seem to be numbered, having recently signed lucrative sponsorship deals that will see their income reaching tremendous margins.
We can look forward to entering a new, hopeful phase in the club’s history and hopefully its a successful one!
