Sun Tzus Art of War
is the oldest military classic known to Chinese literature. It was
written more than 2, 300 years ago. It is also the most revered and
well-known military text outside China.
It is possible that this
is just a compendium of teachings and the author could possibly be one
of the unknown strategists of the Warring States much later than 500
B.C.
However, it can be discerned that the author of the Art of War "lived at a time when large armies were effectively organized, well-trained, and commanded by professional generals."
Also, "The Art of War" is not just a compilation but was written by a
singularly imaginative individual who had considerable practical
experience in war.
When a person deals with strategy, whether
in strategic or tactical level, in any field of endeavor, at any time
and any place, he should read Art of War.
I have profited in many negotiations after reading this Book, and my life has become simpler and peaceful.
