"As You Like It"

"As you like it" is one of the prime example of pastoral literature. This is one of my favorites, is an exploration of love using the contrasts between court and country, artifice and nature, guile and innocent simplicity. Various pairs of lovers are contrasted the most important protagonist being Rosalind.

This play may contain more songs than any other of Shakespeare’s dramas, and most will be familiar to the reader since they have often been taken from the play and presented in a variety of Shakespeare’s most delightful, a joy to experience.

So mainly this book is about finding love, either returned or not but since this is a comedy I guess you can figure out who ends up with who. As you can tell this book was a bit confusing, so I was using the translations a lot, but in the end I though it was pretty good since the plot was so interesting and unimaginable. I suggest this book to anyone who wants to be corny one out of a bunch and prove maturity to the people around you.
