Sachin, Ashok saraf, Laxmikant Berde and Sushant Ray. Their onscreen names are Sudhir (Sudhya), Dhananjay Mane, Parshuram (Parshya) & Shantanu Mane (Dhananjay’s younger brother).
All these used to stay together in a village in Maharashtra. Dhananjay Mane, Sudhir & Parshya are fast friends & somewhat the same age, where else Shantanu is much younger & hence they look at him as thier younger sibling.
Dhananjay Mane, a key person & hilarious mastermind in this story, is the firt to leave the village in search of better paying job so as to support his younger brother Shantanu who’s becoming a doctor. Sudhir and Parshuram are in the singing & entertainment field, they sing in village shows & in temples during local festivals. Shantanu Mane a medical student studying in medical collage at Miraj.
Dhananjay lives as a tenant in a house and his landlord, Mr. Sarpodhar (Sudhir Joshi) who is a total Punekari khadus person & who does not tolerate his tanents misbehaving at all in anyways.
The story plot goes, Shantanu has come to Pune to study & give his final medical year’s exams. He stays with his elder brother as a tenant much to the displeasure of the landlord. One after another both Sudhir & Parshya too land at their friend’s place and try to be out of the landlord’s sight. But one day, they get drunk and bug him to no end. The results..... they get an ultimatum to evict themselves.
After running pillar to post trying to procure a decent house to start living in before their eviction date, they find themselves at wits ends. Finally, they do find a good place to stay with an old lady who just recently had cataract removed. She stays alone with her maid servant, hence there is a catch. The landlady prefers only couples. The landlady has an evil nephew (Viju Khote) who is in cahoots with the housemaid with an eye on her property.
So Dhanankay comes up with the idea to have Sudhir & Parshya masquarade as the wives of him & Shantanu ( Dhananjay - Parshya one couple & Shantanu & Sudhir the other). The foursome get his plots foiled, only to expose their real identity. Their actual female loves are Supriya with sachin - she is the niece of the landlady, nivedita joshi- Shantanu’s classmate in medical collage at Miraj, Priya Arun-Parshya’s childhood girlfriend and Ashwini Bhave-Dhananjay’s boss at the retail stores.
The whole story is very fast paced & quite entertaining. A must watch movie.
