Thought everyone must be careful regarding this aspect of Asianet dataline.
I have a scheme in which 6 GB can be used monthly and night unlimited.Recently I noticed huge usage of data which does not actually match my actual usage.
At first I thought it might be some background apps, may be wifi, etc etc.But as time went the data usage kept on piling up. So I decided to check it up thoroughly.
Turned off windows update, automatic updates of apps, Kept wifi to minimum, changed passwords including that of my router. Installed Networx on my pc, an app that shows detailed usage from all kinds of connections.
And here is what I found.
After an hour of searching some online items, the usage shown by Asianet was 500MB. Astonished, I checked my app. and the actual usage was not even half of that. Note that this time no wifi was used, it was just my PC.
I tried calling their so called 24x7 number but no use. I suspect they are trying to finish off the bandwidth as soon as possible. Plus, it is a cheap marketing tactic to attract customers.
The customers get may be 60% of the actual bandwidth offered. Too bad.The plus point is however the dependable speed.
