It took me 27 years to taste this mouth-watering & amazing delicacy at Aslam in old Delhi. Making way through the heavily crowded streets of purani dilli is one heck of a challenge that one has to face. But, the end result - The famous Butter Chicken Tikka - would wipe off all the pain you took to reach the place.
On a weekend, along 2 of my friends, I visited the place for the first time in my life. Although, my suggestion was to go to Kareem’s since I had heard a lot about them but the majority decided to go to Aslam. I was not sure whether that would be a good decision or not. However, on going through some online reviews I got assured that even if it’s not the best still it would be worth a visit.
On reaching Aslam, at first glance I found the place to be quite small but soon realised that there are couple of other floors which offers ample amount of space. We felt ourselves comfortable in sitting on first floor. Without wasting any time we ordered the most awaited dish of the day - Butter Chicken Tikka.
In next few minutes, we received our order served in a usual steel bowl where the succulent chicken tikka chunks were heavily dipped in butter along with Rumali rotis & a pet bottle of coke. Having its first bite took me to heavens & down. So amazing it tasted. The following bites kept complimenting its unique & stunning preparation.
For those who have not tried it yet, kindly go & have. Trust me you are going to love it to bits. I too am planning to go again soon.
