Watch this movie only if u are a die hard fan of shahrukh or kareena.this movie is supposed to brief about the life of king ashoka the great but the main part of how he converted to buddhism and why he did so just forms a negligible part of this movie that too which is shown at the fag end and part of it just comes as written text before which half the audience is out of the theatre. one really. the movie has a good start showing the kid khan who has given a good performance. all the songs are just ok except for the first one being san sananana in which kareena looks sexy as ever, though one thing does come to our mind that water proof eye make up evolved in india at a tine as early as that!!!!! the movie starts with asoka (thankfully pronounced correctly as ashok in the movie)competing with his brothers for the throne which his mother (the first wife of his father who is not treated fairly)objects and so he is sent out of the kingdom to behave like a common man. few nice scenes here and good comedy by danny denzoappa. then he meets karena who is the princess of kalinga and has run away with her kid bro and is taken care of by the senapati. ultimately shahrukh and kareena fall in love. special mention about the guy playing kareena’s bro, he was really cute. then shahrukh was called by his mother saying that she was not well. then as usual the people came to know about kareena and so she had o go in hiding and presented to khan ad dead when he returned.the sad and now different asoka returns to is kingdom and then a buddhist ashram is treated and lands up marrying the lady who took care of him. then he kills his brothers and gets the throne and then there is a lot of violence created by him due to which his pregnant wife leaves him. ultimate climax is the kalinga war after which seeing the destruction he is very very upset and then sees karuwaki( kareena). then he realises that accidently her bro was also killed and so he repents even more andf then conversion to buddhism.
technically a good movie. amazing photography.
