Today 16th Sept. 2010 My car i10 was picked up for 1st service by driver employed with "Asset Motors Pvt. Ltd". Bhandup, Mumbai(free pick up and drop service offered by Asset) at about 11:00 AM, the car did not reach them till about 2:00 PM. It came to my notice only when they called me up to verify the pick up time of car at about 2:00 PM. I was scandalized to know that the car was almost lost! I immediately rushed to the service station, by God’s grace the driver arrived after I reached there. The car was taken for a toss. The car was driven for 51 kms. and the service station is about 7 kms from my place.
The service station staff was not co-operative about the whole incident and as a matter of fact they tried to save the driver by hiding him behind and avoid police etc.
Tips for using such free pickup/drop services:
Always confirm that the person picking up the car is employee of the dealer.
Take his license details.
Record your odometer reading and the time of pickup.
Finally talk to the service station before he leaves you.
