Last month, I had the opportunity to utilize the services of Associated Packers and Movers. I had been on the lookout for someone to do a local shifting within Pune and also transport some stuff to Bangalore. After going through all the reviews on Mouthshut, I was very much disappointed at not finding even a single one, with consistent performance.
There was the occasional good review about a some companies, but was not enough to allay my fears. Although I could not find any review on this company here, after getting quotations from a few others too, finally decided to go ahead with Associated. My concern was that, would we have to do any pre-packing before these guys came in. But, they assured us that we need not do anything.
On the day of the shifting, the guys reached our place on the dot (I was really impressed with their punctuality). They then got down to packing all our belongings. Every small item was individually wrapped and then packed in large plastic crates. They took special care while packing delicate items like the TV and glass showpieces.
Since it was raining that day, they wrapped everything in card paper, even the beds and tables. The packing was done in 4 hours. They then loaded all the stuff into a large container truck and transported it to the destination. Finally, they even helped us in completely unpacking and rearranging all our stuff. The whole operation was completed in about 9 hours.
When asked about how good their method of packing is, they replied “The crates that they pack for outstation transport can be thrown down from five stories high, and the goods will still not still not sustain any damage”. I did not try it out thoughJ. But they did seem confident about it.
All along, these guys were very carefully handling the items. They were all very well mannered and were constantly chitchatting with my family members. I mention this here, because I have read some reviews where it says that the packing people are very rude and arrogant.
I also had some belongings to be sent to Bangalore from Pune. They took it along that day itself and delivered it within two weeks. The most surprising part comes now. I needed a payment receipt for the outstation delivery. I called up the guy in Pune and requested him for the same. He asked me my address in Bangalore and had it couriered, at no extra cost. I was pleasantly surprised. It did need some reminders, but was done. I would surely recommend Associated Packers and Movers to everyone in India.
