As a Gadget Freak, I am in habit of getting my hands on every new smartphones launched in the market. This one I received from a close friend and decided to use it for 3-4 days. Here is my short review on Asus Zenfone 5.
Powered by an Intel Atom Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, Asus Zenfone 5 lacks nothing and is available for an affordable price. It has simple round corners and comes in a clean design, without much show-off. Despite available with 5 inch Panel, it is comfortable to hold and use. The screen is very well protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which means that the handset is safe from smudges, dust and scratches.
It operates on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat as the update is received on the phone via OTA. The ZenUI covers the stock Android and offers a stylish and refreshing clean look to the interface.
It has 8MP Camera that clicked some good shots in daylight and with its high level of brightness, Zenfone 5 was able to capture decent low light shots.
The handset has been bestowed with 2GB RAM which makes it quite fast and smooth. It is capable of running most of the mobile games, but when it comes to graphics intensive gaming, Zenfone 5 did showed some signs of stutters and lags; else it worked perfectly most of the time. Also, the phone heats up quickly.
The good thing about Zenfone 5 is that it offers 5GB of ASUS Web Storage apart from 8GB internal memory and support for 64GB of microSD card.
Asus Zenfone 5 is decent budget smartphone but it has to find its way through the infamous Moto G, in order to reach the masses.
