ASUS lately has earned a reputation of making good phones in the cheaper segment but failed to do so in this phone.
The phone has some really outdated features that could’ve been better. Asus is known to use the same design for almost all it’s phones which makes its look boring and out-dated. It has a primary plastic body with metallic frame which does not have any good feel or look, so it has failed poorly in the looks segment.
It sports a 5-inch display with not on-screen buttons rather capacitive touch buttons which are not back lit which is one of the many limitations of this phone. They have also used a out dated snapdragon 410 which is another major drawback of the phone. A new feature called beautification mods has been added for facebook, youtube live, etc but other parameters have been compromised badly which is a bad sign. With other phones like redmi 4 and motog5 in the same price segment which totally outclass the performance of asus zenfone live ZB501KL it is hard recommending this phone to anyone.
