I admitted my nephew this August in this college and he always complains about the culture, nevertheless, he is very right.
classes from 8 to 4 which is typical in Bangalore but is like working full time. 8 to 12 or max 2 should be the timings. You cannot do extracurricular activities like sports which enhance the personality of a person in the dark.
class attendance is focused upon very strictly, 75% sounds okay if the above statement did not make it look absurd.
college guys also do part time jobs which primarily start from 4 in many offices, however its just not possible if you wanna study over here
45 minutes break for lunch, as if the students are just meant to eat in the break. Moreover, most lecturers will use 15 or 30 minutes of that break leaving you with a small amount of time to just nothing. This was not enough, lecturers having classes just after the lunch break might not allow you to enter if you enter the class a bit late, say cuz you had to get a signature to get a bus pass or whatever.
College infrastructure.sucks. Being a 15 year old college, its still in construction. No parks, no sitting space except library, no proper parking lot except a roof of an underground building. I wonder when they started they must have thought to just start with whatever they got.
lecturers are awful, to be honest. there are many reasons why.
Inexperienced teachers are teaching full time. Just the last year a fresher started working as a lecturer for the last year people, which is ridiculous.
Poor communication skills, most lecturers have poor communication skills but are fluent in Kannada. They can’t explain but just can read out of the book. I talked with a few of them in person and they just cant speak fluent english, how are they supposed to clear doubts.
I hear a few lecturers a experienced but most are non-cooperative.
Lectures have ego somehow.
I would recommend you for Nitte Menakshi, its much more better than this college.
Academics, you just need to know how to bring marks, boot licking is a thing here.
there is literally no sports event held by the college authority. Extra currivular activities are not encouraged.
Administration is pro-lecturer or pro-staff. You cant get a work done so easily.
As far as this goes, the college life sucks over here.
