The new Audi R8, is Audi’s best attempt at making a race car street legal. The design of the new R8 replaces the curves from the outgoing model with bold streaking lines. Both the front and the rear have a sharp bend in place of the voluptuous curves from the previous one. The wider and lower stance gives the vehicle a more aggressive and intense look.
The interior of the car is just superb. The highlight of the new R8 is the huge arch of border lights around the central console, steering wheel, driver seats and door pads, gives you the feeling of being inside and actual race car. All the functions of the car can now be operated from the steering wheel remote controls or the latest MMI interface on the central console.
The engine on this car is just breath taking. The v10 variant produces 540 BhP while the V10 plus variant shells out 610 BhP. The car can reach 0-100 km/h in 3.5 and 3.2 seconds respectively and can reach top seeds of 320 - 330 km/h.
Audi considers their customers above everyone else and dealer satisfaction is never a problem.
The mileage is not very appealing with and average of 8 - 12 km/l, however, it would be injustice to the car to judge it based on its mileage and not its performance.
Audi is likely to introduce this car as a competitor to the BMW i8 and Porsche 911 Turbo S, and should be priced within Rs. 1.8 crores to Rs. 2.4 crores.
