I thought that this movie was another so called epic and performances would be almost same from familiar highly acclaimed actorswhen this movie was released.
It was when I watched it that realisation dawned on me and I was just a witness glued to a spell-binding splendor on screen that cinema really needed for some years.
An epic and romantic action adventure set on the brink of world war 2 and shot in Australia paying homage to that country and the stolen generations(stolen generations/stolen children is aterm used to describe those children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who were removed from their families by the Australian and State governments agencies and church missions, under acts of their respective parliaments.
The removals occured in the period between approximately 1869 and 1969)with brilliant performances by Nicoloe Kidman, Hugh Jackman, David Winham(Moulin Rouge, 300), Bryan Brown(Two Hands), and extraordinary performances by David Gulpill as King George and the enchanting Aboriginal child Brandon Walters as Nullah in his debut film.Watch out the part in the movie when the characters find each other amidst the city of Darwin being shot to doll rags by Japanese troops that attacked Pearl Harbour.A must see for all...........
