If you have a strong spiritual side, or if your spiritual leanings are beginning to surface, or if you have a healthy curiosity about the spiritual side - then this is one book that you cannot do without!
Admittedly, this book isnt for everybody. If spirituality bores you, or if you like your spirituality in simple(even over-simplified), condensed, easy-to-remember prose likeThe Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, then you may not like this book. It needs some concentration, yes, it can be heavy reading at times - and some of the concepts are indeed difficult to grasp. It certainly helps if one has already read Swami Vivekananda and Shri Aurobindo, but that is not a compulsion.
But enough caveats for now!
If this book is for you, the value that you will derive from it is immeasurable! You will return to it a hundred times, sometimes only to your favourite chapters or paragraphs but occasionally to revisit the entire book from cover to cover.
Each reader will have his/her favourite portions; mine are:
The Law of Miracles - and the simplicity with which Yogananda has demystified the subject
The idea that there is a particular time in your life when your spiritual quest begins; you cannot force it to happen earlier.
The fascinating account pertaining to the Legend of Maha Avtar Babaji
The idea that Karma is a bunch of unfulfilled desires - not sins that one must atone for
The idea that Death is just a doorway - to another dimension, another plane, another form of energy vibrating at a different frequency
People say that this book can change your life. I say thats a staggering understatement! Read it, live it, revisit it, internalize it, share it, let it permeate your life - and you will know what I mean.
