For me, in the city of Mumbai, automatic is much easier and not so stressful. Abroad when the roads are better and the traffic less you dont mind sitting behind a manual wheel. Even an automatic is more appreciated on better roads.
My personal experience on the Indian soil was that being a person of thin stature and probably weak bones!Ha Ha, I found that after a weeks driving of a manual car, my ankles were sore and my head was banging tremendously. I will be honest that I do not know all the technicalities and mechanisms of cars to write a review like some of you have, just by my experience, sitting behind an automatic wheel gives me less nerves and tension. For me, a foreigner to the Indian soil, it took me a while to learn to adjust to the Indian traffic. At one stage I concluded that the only skill needed to drive on these roads were:
- to be able to honk all the time, and 2. to cut lanes. Trying to drive a manual and keep up with the two points mentioned made me sick. But when I opted for the automatic I found life much easier. I feel I have more control and also I can be at more ease. I recommend an automatic any time.
