Watching this movie, during and after completion, the only thought that stayed in my mind is "What a beautiful mind James cameroon has".
Lot of us talk about vision, creativity, idea and so on, but jotting down every bit of how the scenario must look right from the minutest leaf to the grandest mountains or the Mother tree, how the cast should appear on screen, the colors that must be used etc on a piece of paper and creating most of it using a computer(no offence meant, I mean huge computers and loads of techie software), is absolutely unimaginable.
Well, there are exceptions and James Cameroon happens to be an exception too. The movie’s USP happens to be "making the impossible, possible?
As far as the story goes, there is nothing new, Bad human beings trying to exploit another planet in the name of studying it, sending the hero into the planet as a spy only for the spy to become one of them and extract revenge on the wrong doers, iam sure we have heard similar stories lots of time.
Only difference is that the hero is amongst the planet beings as one of them, i.e. he takes an Avatar(or uses a dedicated body of theirs) and controls its mind remotely(so much for virtualization:) and gets his acts done, right from learning their way of life, taming a beast bird(Boeing 747), using a bow and arrow(the arrows in the movie are more of spears) making love to the heroine, getting the name of being the one among only 5 people to have ever tamed a giant beast bird( let us say it is the airbus A380) to speaking their tongue and ultimately fighting for them, All done remotely(universal remote)
but the simplicity ends there. What james cameroon has done is to use this simple thread and weave an entire range of clothing using it. The viewers will be in for a visual treat, especially if it is an IMAX 3D screen, which will transport them to the imaginary planet altogether.
it may be possible for us to retain or re-create something based on some inspiration or an act or place that we have already seen. James cameroon has created a whole new world out of his tiny little brain, of course few of them are inspired from real world locations and concepts, nevertheless a brain is such a small place to create such a beautiful, calm and unreal world.
Iam certain that readers, who have already watched the movie, will admit that words cant describe the experience that watching this movie was. Am still amazed not at the on screen visuals, but only at what an imaginative, creative and beautiful mind that james cameroon has.
