A good reliable taxi service has always been a dream of every chennai-ite. The city is known for its hot climate and “hotter” auto meters and ruthless behavior of majority of the auto/taxi drivers.
In fact Chennai auto meters are the fastest running thing known to me. Over the years I have developed a phobia for traveling in autos and taxis in Chennai.
But in the recent years, with the arrival of prepaid taxi services such as Fast Track, Bharthi etc, it has become
little easier and more comfortable than autos, as they follow the proper meters and they are ready to pick and drop at any point.
Aviation Express (AE) is one such prepaid taxi service, operating from the Chennai airport. They run the prepaid taxi service from the airport to the city and also the pickup service from any point to the airport. This facility is available round the clock.
They have around 140 vehicles; most of them are UVs like Innova, Tavera, and Sumo etc. I think its a great idea to have such vehicles operating from the airport, because of the fact that its easier to fit in a group of 4-5 people and their luggage’s in one go, which may not be possible in normal taxis like indica or omni.
