Being a store assistant at a shopping centre, my work involves serving customers, restocking shelves, processing transactions, ensuring that the area is well-maintained, and resolving customer complaints. My job requires me to stand for long periods, say up to twelve to thirteen hours a day. Due to this, I was experiencing a throbbing sensation in my left limb. It was accompanied by a feeling of heaviness. Initially, I did not pay too much attention to it but when I was experiencing intense pain after standing for long periods, I decided to see a doctor. The pain was increasing rapidly and then, my colleague suggested that I visit Avis Hospital. I booked an appointment with their vascular specialist, who conducted a few medical check-ups and told me that I had varicose veins. He checked for the presence of swollen veins in the affected area with the help of colour doppler test, similar to an X-Ray.
He examined the condition of my left limb and advised me to undergo surgery. With the help of laser technology, the varicose veins were sealed without affecting the healthy ones. It is a painless and minimally invasive treatment, which involves no scarring. It was performed as an outpatient procedure and I was discharged the same day. I went home freely without feeling any pain and was able to resume normal activities from the next day itself. Earlier, I thought my life was over and I got too scared when I was diagnosed with the condition. But after the treatment, I was relieved. Besides, it’s been a year now and I haven’t experienced any side effects or recurrence of the varicose veins. The hospital services are really affordable and I am totally happy with my experience.
