I being paying for aviva ulip policy from 2005 Rs.12, 000 I paid for 4years and in fifth year since I’m in overseas I asked my brother to issue a chq on behalf of me. Aviva got the the chq and submitted to bank because of slight change in signature the chq was not cleared. The following year I arranged someone to go to aviva outlet and pay cash only at the point of time they said the chq was not cleared and policy is lapsed. In between I have spoken to aviva cust service many time they got all my details. Still there was no email or any form of communication.
Now I tried to transfer the lapsed policy money to a fresh retirement fund. Initially the said it can be done in my name I sent all the documents from overseas after receiving the documents they said it cant be done in my name since i’m not leaving in India. It can be done in my wife name with limited benifits. finally I decided to take the money back that guy gave a form which turned out to be a old form. I need to download fresh form. I will be getting only 41, 000 out of 48, 000.
