Buy Aviva policy at your own risk!

It is said that many unemployable graduates roam the Indian corporate sector. It seems these people have found employment at insurance companies, and in Aviva in particular.

I have an Aviva Life Insurance policy and I have to pay premium every quarter. Every time I have to pay premium I am made to run around in circles by this wretched company.

First, their website does not work. After writing ten times to the customer care e-mail, I get a reply that it will take 3 days to rectify the problem. More than a week later, I still wait for the problem to be rectified. It seems that the IT people at Aviva are noncompoops, without adequate training, who have no idea as to how websites are made.

I try to pay through the IVR, which seems to have been made by another unemployable types. It takes 15 minutes to reach the menu for payment of premium. You have to punch in all details for verification twice. Then something goes wrong and you are back on square one.

The call centre is manned by ill-trained people who start asking you questions without even bothering to listen to the customer. You can only talk to a rep only after punching in verification details and she starts asking you the same questions over and over again. If you survive, she says that IVR machine can only take the premium so you are put in the loop again.

The Aviva insurance company is truly priceless in terms of service. Every time I have to pay premium we go through the above steps several times. Technology is meant to help companies and people, but the illiterate people at Aviva are doing quite the opposite. Not only are the IT and call centre employees bad, it seems that the top management of Aviva is also some unemployable graduates who have never checked their own systems.

Avoid Aviva. Despite Tendulkar modelling for it, it has nothing going for it. May Tendulkar fry in hell for endorsing such a com[any. May the agent who sold me the policy fry in hell for selling me this policy. For readers, only one word of advice: AVOID AVIVA.
