I purchsed an ULIP policy at Aviva through ABN AMRO two years back. Since premium amount was running into lakhs I was given a special status and dedicated customer service contacts.
After first year premium is paid I wanted to make change to mode of premium. Submitted my request to so called special contact. It was lying in her draw for several months. I have sent more than 30 email reminders. I gave up on them. Result policy was cancelled. They did not even have courtesy to call me or email me about cancellation. When I logged onto their website one day noticed that it was cancelled.
In an attempt to reinstate the policy sent them outstanding preimum amount(again runs into lakhs) in Jan 2008. It is more tham two months and policy is still in lapsed state. Sent about 20+ emails and made several contacts to their customer service. I have no idea what to do now.
I also made few policies with LIC and guess what LIC agent is a much more reliable contact than Aviva special customer care. Just one phone call agent comes home and gets my job done.
I do not suggest Aviva. Stay away from it.
