After studying all the terms plans available in market I found for my age this is the lowest premium plan, even though after reading negative reviews in mouth shut, Aviva executive was able to convince me to buy this as they said all the reviews are from people who are dissatisfied by increasing the premium due to there health issues and company can not give policy at the same price if they found anything with the customer which leads to the problem in the future.
When I purchased the policy I disclosed the all the information correctly, after that my medical was conducted by home visit, my weight was less than what I mentioned in the proposal form. After 2 days I received the mail Aviva wanted to conduct my COTINUNE test which identify the effect of smoke in your body. After another 5 days of conducting test when I did not hear back from the Aviva about my medical report when I inquired about the result I was told the premium is increased by 25% when I asked the reason they said you will receive email from Aviva for the reason.
Next day I received an email from Aviva with my medical report, My all the medical reports was OK and negative even the CONTINUE test report was also perfect, when they did not find any thing from my report they gave me the reason for premium hike is my family health history.
Now I would like to bring the point here to all the readers, normally we are at the age from 30-37 purchase the policy and surely at the same time our parents age would be some where 60-65+ and they would be having some health issue. Aviva is increasing the premium even though your parents are having some health issues this is unfair. In my case they clearly said since your father and mothers had health issue we will increase the premium, as they are not providing insurance to me instead to my parents. So guys please beware of this cheater company as they can make you fool by giving any illogical reason and make they money. I asked them to cancel the policy, since I was not accepting the reason of hike they said they will deduct the medical charges of some Rs.2800 from the premium I paid.
I argued to Aviva people and said if they had some issues with my family health history, I had disclosed that in the beginning itself at the time of proposal filling why your underwriting team or your system should be capable enough of telling to customer about the increase of premium. Why you conducted my medical test before closely understanding my proposal. But nothing happened and finally I cancelled the policy with Aviva.
